Uses

Things I actually use, not things I meant to start using.

Everyday devices

  • Phone — where most of this gets written, badly, at the wrong hour.
  • Laptop — the one that still turns on without negotiation.
  • Camera — for the things I want in higher resolution than memory offers.

Writing and thinking

  • A notes app — the version nobody reads.
  • Paper — the version I actually remember.
  • Voice memos — for ideas that arrive while driving and die if written down later.

Building websites

  • A plain text editor — no ceremony, no project wizard.
  • Static files — this site is a folder. That is the entire trick.
  • GitHub — version history used mainly as a memory aid.

Organization and operations

  • A spreadsheet doing a job it was never designed for.
  • Physical folders — they do not require a login or a subscription.

Creative tools

  • An image editor — mostly for cropping and undoing what I just did.
  • A scanner — the archive does not digitize itself.

Internet spaces

  • Brat Protocol — the larger world I am building.
  • Personal websites with changelogs nobody asked for.

Things I keep returning to

  • Rereading my own old notes, which is either research or a hobby.
  • The same four songs, in order.
